Website: frequently asked questions
-
Yes, it is possible, especially if you’re importing from another WordPress site. If you’re importing from another engine (Wix, Monsite, Yola…), it might be more difficult and it may be needed to proceed on a case-by-case basis; contact us so we can look into the situation.
In the worst case, it may be necessary to re-create your site, which could take a few days depending on the number of pages to be imported.
If, however, your site is entirely static (HTML, CSS and JavaScript only), you can use our static site hosting service instead.

No, we don’t offer a website design service, we only take care of hosting. You’ll have to build the website yourself, but don’t worry: thanks to WordPress, you won’t have to write lines of code.
If, however, you need help creating your site to customize its appearance down to the last detail, we can put you in touch with a network of third-party providers to help you out; contact us for more information.

For themes: we can install the themes you want on a case-by-case basis, but ideally you should be able to find what you’re looking for among the thirty or so pre-installed themes. Contact us to request a theme.
For plugins: no, it’s not possible to install new plugins yourself for security reasons: plugins have to be maintained over the years and can become incompatible if there’s no one left to update them, so we avoid installing as many as possible.
However, you can contact us to request a plugin; if it proves to be particularly lightweight, fully compatible with our configuration, actively maintained and absolutely essential for you, we’ll consider your request.

This operation requires special handling on our part, in particular to integrate a captcha (accessible) in order to combat spam. Contact us with the following information:
- The list of fields in your form, their names and each of their types (short text, long text, multiple choice, checkbox…), specifying which of them are required ;
- The page of your site on which you would like your form to appear;
- The e-mail address that will receive your form.
We’ll come back to you with an HTML code that you can easily integrate into your site as a block, and we’ll even integrate it for you if you wish.
Please note, however, that for temporary or ephemeral forms, we advise you to use external form creation software that you integrate into the page (for example, with an iframe block) to reduce our workload.

You select the people within your organization who will have access to edit your site.
People who do not have this access will not be able to edit your site, nor consult the pre-production version (only the public version).
-
As the final, published version of your site is entirely static, you can’t integrate dynamic content other than through iframes (to integrate agendas, interactive maps…), with the exception of forms (see previous question).
Comments are deactivated on all sites to avoid moderation and spam problems.
For security reasons, you can’t integrate PHP code into your site’s pages, nor into the themes and plugins you’ve selected. You can only customize your site within the limits set by the theme you’re using.
However, if your theme allows, you can add an additional CSS sheet to further customize your site’s appearance.
-
This is normal: when you edit the site from within WordPress, the changes are only visible to you and your team, as they are in the pre-publication environment.
You need to navigate to the “Staatic” menu and click on the “Publish” button to trigger the publication of your site.
In the same way, don’t share links to the pre-published version of your site (which begins with
https://wordpress.lacontrevoie.fr/
as only your team will have access to it; instead, copy the links from the published version of your site, to its “real” address.
